Zero City

(2022)
Composer

As a part of my masters’ degree project, I got the opportunity to compose for the exhibition Zero City at Tekniska museet, Stockholm.

My task was to make music for the city of tomorrow. My reasoning was, that irrespective of how the cities will sound, there will be rhythm. I wanted the music to enhance the quotidian rhythms, and make the sounds from the visitors be an integrated part of the composition.

The music is present throughout the exhibition, most notably through a 4-channel sound installation in a big balloon, playing a 24-minute cycle of raising chords. In addition, small speakers are placed in various locations, enhancing and focusing a busy environment with stylized sounds from a future city.
